How funny do you want your groom wedding speech to be?
Well if you are considering a funny grooms speech, it is a good idea to consider the normal speeches that are made at weddings, and what they should contain.
Traditionally there are three speeches at most weddings, and they are normally given in this order:
- Brides Father Speech
- Grooms Speech
- Best Man Speech
There are no hard and fast rules, but it is normal for the bride’s father to tell the wedding party how proud his is to have a fine man marry his daughter. The best man’s speech usually contains more light hearted humour, and funny stories.
Groom speeches should run along the lines of a thank you. Thanks should be given to all those who assisted with the wedding preparations, family, and those attending. Most times the groom wedding speech will include a story of how he met his bride, or something interesting that has happened with them. It is a great opportunity to add a little humour at this part of the speech.
Remember there will probably be people of all ages listening to the speech, so don’t use any smutty jokes.
